First phase of Lean implementation executed at Joos Group ( Belgium)

To facilitate a fast production start up of their new VSOP, Joos (www.groupjoos.com) decided to execute the DGpS Lean Print Operation program ( LPO) . The essence of this method is a very controlled and guided production start up by using Lean manufacturing principles and methods. Marc Hendricks , production director at Joos, stated: “ the consultants of DGpS did an excellent job by combining their practical VSOP and print knowledge with the methods of lean manufacturing implementation”. He continued with: “The first phase have been done now and we are very determined to extend the approach of “lean” further into our company. We would recommend any VSOP user to start up its new press with an alike program. Not only the learning curve will be shortened considerable, also new working procedures that supports the high potential of the VSOP concept are introduced as from day one, enabling a full utilization of the performance of the VSOP short after startup and thus a fast return of the VSOP investment.”
